We live in a globalized world, and your dashboards should reflect that. As businesses expand into new markets and engage with diverse audiences, the need for dashboards that can support multiple languages is essential. Explo is taking a significant step forward by adding translation features on top of existing localization options.

What are the features?

Translated text for controls and interactions:

Explo now has the ability to show various controls such as export options and filters in different languages. These translations are pre-configured so it will automatically show the translated text.

Set local date, time, and currencies

Explo automatically adjusts date, time, and number formats and uses local currencies to show data and text based on the locale. There’s no additional lift needed on the editor to set up different formatting options.

Pass in additional text in alternative languages

For editor-set fields such as chart titles, columns names, tooltips, you now have the ability to pass in alternative text via embed variables, so we can show your users translated text.

Example: Translating to Spanish

Let’s say you’re rolling out a new campaign in South America and need to present performance metrics to your local team. With Explo’s Global Translation feature, you can easily translate all labels, titles, and descriptions within the dashboard into Spanish. This not only ensures that the data is understood clearly but also promotes a more collaborative and inclusive work environment for your international team members.

This level of localization ensures that everyone can work with the same data, no matter where they are in the world or what language they speak.

How It Works

Under the Settings tab, select Internationalization to access settings to select a default language, currency enable detecting browser language. Enabling detect browser language will allow Explo to auto translate and format based on your end users’ browser locale.

This will translate all the Explo defined controls and actions, and also format the time, date, and currencies to that language.

To translate editor defined text, you will leverage our embed variables to pass in the translated text when embedding, so it loads with the correct text when loading for your users.

Key Benefits of Global Translation

  • Multi-Language Support: Translate your dashboards into any language, including Japanese, Spanish, French, and more.
  • Custom Localization Themes: Standardize the look and feel of dashboards across different languages while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Improved Collaboration: Make data accessible and understandable to global teams and stakeholders.
  • Expand Global Reach: Help your business scale internationally by making sure data is easily comprehensible in any region.

What’s Next?

As Explo rolls out internationalization features, we’ll also be rolling out support to for languages as they are requested. If there’s a language that’s not yet supported, or currency not available, let our team know and we’ll set up the translations!

We will be continuing to improve and enhance features to enable dashboards to be viewed in all languages. The remaining limitation is the data itself as we don’t translate text in your data that is exposed in Explo. As translation technology continues to accelerate with the addition of AI, we’re confident that we will provide solutions for fully translating dashboards and data into any language.

Stay tuned for more updates from Explo, and as always, don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team if you have any questions or need assistance.
